Sunnen Diamond Valve Guide Hone
With the Sunnen Diamond Valve Guide Hone we can very precisely hone valve guide clearance to within .0001". This is a must for the Bronze valve guides that come in most aluminum race heads.We can check the clearance as we go with a Valve Guide Dial Bore Gauge. We have bore gauges and diamond hones for 5/16"-8mm, 11/32", and 3/8". We can install bronze guide liners into cast iron guides in the following sizes; 5.5mm,6mm,6.6mm,7mm,8mm,5/16,11/32,3/8. We can also convert 3/8 guides to 11/32 so a valve with a smaller stem can be used for better airflow on BB Chevy, Chryslers, and AMC. We finish all guides with a nice ballhone crosshatch finish after sizing has been done, and clean them out with laquer thinner to remove any loose particals. We sand all valve stems with 1000 grit wet sandpaper to remove any and all burrs[so they don't scratch the guide] and to give a nice fine finish to help retain oil on the stem. Once stems are finished, they do not touch anything else until they are installed in the guide! All guides are oiled with Synthetic engine assembly lube during final assembly!
