Sunnen Valve Lifter Recrowner

I know, you think, why recrown a lifter when you can buy new ones cheap enough? Well, some lifters, like those used in some race engines have specially treated cases or small oil holes drilled in the bottom which make them rather expensive to replace. Lifters in old engines that can no longer be purchased new or are very expensive can be recrowned. The face of the lifter that rides on the cam should have a .001-.002 crown on it. In other words, the center of the lifter should be .001-.002 higher than the outside edges. This crown keeps the lifter from wearing out the cam lobes. Once the crown is gone, the lifter starts eating up the cam. We can recrown a wide veriety of lifter diameters!
