The Sunnen VR-7000 Valve Refacer
What makes the VR-7000 unique from most other valve refacers[including other Sunnen Valve Refacers] is the fact that it spins the valve stem in v-blocks! Most valve Refacers clamp the valve stem in a chuck and then spin the chuck. The problem with the chuck style is they never face the valve the same every time. If you unchuck it and rechuck it the valve face will not be concentric to the valve stem. With the VR-7000 repeatability is always there. Since this machine spins the valve stem in V-blocks, it ALWAYS faces concentric to the stem! If you pull the valve out and put it back in, it will face true every time. This is the most accurate valve facer we have seen. We can tip all valves so they are the same length. The VR-7000 also has a feature that most other facers do not have and that is a stop for the valve stem. Once all valves are the same length, the stop can be set so all valves get faced to exactly the same length from face to tip also! This makes for a valve job that is the same from cylinder to cylinder. Can't get any more accurate than that!
